Posted: 10 February If I must describe my free roam games from childhood before GTA III, I'd say Driver and Midtown Madness, they had a revolutionary concept of 'driving in the city', while MM focused on races and crazy arcade style, Driver focused on more realistic driving in various missions through a story. The magic touch Driver had was awesome back then, car chases truly looked like movies from the 70's, the athmosphere of the cities were great, despite they looked so awful and aged quite bad. Driver was an unlucky series in my PC, the first game was overplayed, Driver 2 never made it out for PC, Driv3r was nothing but a demo in my PC. My curiosity to check how Driver evolved was too big to let this game go, but I was a bit disappointed how awfully looked like a GTA III clone, but still could give a few hours of fun. PROS • NEW YORK AND ERAS: While Driver's map looked as great as bad at the same time and GTA was building awesome maps, DPL moved on and built a very well detailed version of New York. The main landmarks are there (yes, the WTC in 78 is awesome!), streets finally look more realistic, you can feel the NY style, driving around with NY in the background is a thrilling experience I rarely had even in GTA games.

You can also switch eras and the city will change as well! 78 and 2006 maps have different buildings (and a sadly gone WTC), different cars and buildings' evolution.
Introduction To Data Warehousing And Business Intelligence Pluralsight more. The greatest touch into the game in my opinion. • CARS: While they aren't real brand cars and somehow cartoonish and less detailed than the last GTA's (SA and VC), they still look pretty good, somewhere more detailed (like the engine bay). There are many cars and their damages are much better than any other game, looking like the ones in Flatout 2. A very cool feature is their customization, not as detailed as GTA:SA but good enough to make you spend some time there. • FELONY: I truly loved the felony system and I am disappointed it wasn't used in further games, only Mafia II had a close system if I remember well.
There's a difference between car's felony and player's felony, making it more realistic. Anything done inside the car adds to the car's felony, which will be added to player's felony once the player gets out while seen by police. So you can reset your car felony by changing car while unseen, on the other hand if you have player's felony, you need to be exposed for some time before police will chase you, making it a lot more realistic and less senseless than the time-based system in GTAs. Sad, very sad. • MISSIONS: Missions are nothing special, but beside the story missions, there are some cool secondary missions to accept around. Just a good way to make the game last longer in free roam mode but still not as complete as a GTA.
Missions seem a bit recycled from other games and don't have much variety, but still not too awful. • PRICE: The price is low, the discounted price is very low, the longevity and fun is barely acceptable. You can finish it in 7-8 hours if you jump the extra missions, it lasts a lot more if you try to complete the whole game or just mess around. So far I'd recommend it for less than 3$ CONS • GTA CLONE: I am not critic to GTA Clone, actually that's a revolutionary idea that must be pursued (do not forget before FPS genre was invented, its first name was Doom clone), Ubisoft messed up not just the genre, but the entire Driver series.
