Gwar Battle Maximus

3/27/2018

Feb 05, 2014 Instrumental from GWAR's latest album Battle Maximus. De Lotto Email Sweepstakes Program Corporation. -uploaded in HD at http://www.TunesToTube.com.

Formed in Virginia way back in 1984, GWAR has long been assaulting listeners with wildly over-the-top super-metal and insane, performance art–heavy live shows complete with outlandish Mad Max–meets– Rawhead Rex costumes, political effigies, mock executions, and countless gallons of fake body fluids. Human Fall Flat For Android here. Battle Maximus is GWAR's 13th full-length album and the first since the untimely passing of lead guitarist Corey Smoot/Flattus Maximus in 2011; he's been replaced by Brent Purgason from Cannabis Corpse. Though GWAR has been around for nearly 30 years and weathered many personnel changes, it's remained loyal to its original sound, thankfully never updating for the times or trying to adapt to new trends. Slashing guitars, machine-gun drums, and shouted/growled vocals dominate, with mutilation-heavy imagery in no short supply. Check out 'Madness at the Core of Time,' 'Raped at Birth,' 'Triumph of the Pig Children,' and 'I, Bonesnapper.' Cool Timer Full Version. I first had my young mind warped by the creative and exploitative extremity of this satirical metal troupe in 1992, and since then I credit GWAR with my vocabulary, my performance art style and my earliest experiences of queer positivity (the omnisexuality and homo-eroticism of their early records was transgressive and appealing). A fine swan song for Oderous, an excellent tribute to Flattus and overall a great metal record (vocals, guitarwork, song-structure, catchy hooks, everything).

Favorite track: Bloodbath.
